Public schools and school districts are prohibited from membership in associations or organizations that grant preferential treatment based on race, color, ethnicity, or national origin through DEI positions, departments, activities, procedures, or programs

Membership is also prohibited with organizations that have DEI promotion policies, require DEI statements from job applicants, or give preferential hiring consideration based on DEI criteria

Schools and districts must review all existing memberships for compliance and provide 15 calendar days' notice to non-compliant organizations before terminating membership

Annual electronic certificates of compliance must be submitted to the State Board of Education by July 1, 2026, and each July 1 thereafter

Declared an emergency measure, taking effect immediately upon passage and approval
