Eliminates the statute of limitations for prosecuting sexual crimes against children, allowing prosecution at any time after the offense occurs, replacing the previous deadline of the victim's forty-fifth birthday

Applies to crimes including rape, forcible sodomy, lewd acts against children, child pornography, child trafficking, and failure to report child abuse or neglect

Applies retroactively to any offense not already time-barred as of the effective date of November 1, 2026

Maintains existing 20-year statute of limitations for sexual crimes committed against adult victims (18 years or older), running from the date the crime is reported to law enforcement

Preserves existing provisions allowing unlimited prosecution time when DNA evidence establishes probable cause or when the accused confesses
