Judges presiding over domestic violence cases must complete 8 hours of continuing education annually on domestic violence, substance abuse, addiction, and mental health topics

Administrative Office of the Courts is responsible for providing the required training to judiciary members

Required curriculum includes dynamics of domestic violence, impact on victims and children, trauma neurobiology, identifying dominant aggressors, batterer tactics, victim protection orders, and rights of victims

Training must also cover evidence-based practices for behavioral health treatment and substance abuse/mental health needs
