Extends existing 6-week paid maternity leave benefits to include 6 weeks of paid adoption leave for eligible education employees, including public school district employees, technology center instructors, State Department of Rehabilitation Services teachers, Department of Corrections correctional teachers, and Office of Juvenile Affairs teachers

Eligibility requires at least 1 year of employment and 1,250 hours worked in the preceding 12-month period; leave must be used immediately following the adoption of a child

Expands leave sharing programs to allow district employees to donate sick leave to colleagues who recently adopted a child, in addition to existing provisions for pregnancy and childbirth

Renames the "Public School Paid Maternity Leave Revolving Fund" and "Education Employee Paid Maternity Leave Revolving Fund" to include "and Adoption" in their titles, with funds used to reimburse districts and agencies for adoption leave expenses

Effective date of July 1, 2026, with an emergency clause allowing immediate implementation upon passage and approval
