Mobile crisis teams may request safety-related information from municipal or county law enforcement agencies before responding to calls involving individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or suicidal crises

Safety-related information includes history of violent behavior, possession of weapons or firearms, prior incidents requiring law enforcement intervention, outstanding warrants, and other information indicating risk to responders

Municipal and county law enforcement agencies must develop protocols to ensure timely delivery of safety-related information to mobile crisis teams

Disclosed information must be limited to what is reasonably necessary for team safety and remains confidential; sealed or expunged records are not required to be disclosed

Law enforcement employees who disclose information following established protocols are immune from liability; effective date is November 1, 2026
