Adjunct teachers without valid teaching certificates are limited to 270 clock hours of classroom teaching per semester

Alternative placement teaching certificates require a minimum of 6 semester hours (90 clock hours) and maximum of 18 semester hours (270 clock hours) for the professional education component

Applicants must complete standard certification within 3 years through an alternative placement program and pass the subject area competency examination

Effective date is July 1, 2026, with an emergency clause for immediate effect upon passage
