Primary health care providers in Oklahoma must offer pediatric screenings for type 1 diabetes, following accepted medical practices and with informed consent from the child's parent or legal guardian.

Screenings are reimbursable under the state Medicaid program, pending any required federal approval.

State Department of Health must seek grants and other funding opportunities to support the screening program.

State Commissioner of Health and Oklahoma Health Care Authority Board must promulgate rules to implement the requirements.

Effective date: November 1, 2026.
