State Board of Education must approve or reject licensure recommendations within 30 calendar days of receipt; failure to act within this timeframe results in automatic approval if all statutory requirements are met

Teacher licenses issued under this process are valid for 5 years and subject to standard renewal requirements

Local school boards must establish transparent procedures including minimum 20-day application windows, 30-day board review periods, and 5-business-day notification requirements

School districts and their boards are shielded from civil liability for recommendations submitted under this act; effective date July 1, 2026
