Expands mandatory medical examiner investigations from infants only to all sudden unexpected deaths of individuals under 20 years old (sudden death in the young/SDY) and sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS) cases at any age

Requires investigations within 48 hours to include autopsy if necessary, microscopic and toxicology studies, review of immunization and medical records, and interviews with parents, guardians, or caregivers

Mandates documentation of any immunizations or emergency countermeasures administered within 90 days before death in the investigative report

Requires reporting of qualifying cases to the CDC/NIH-coordinated SUID and SDY Case Registry and forwarding reports to the State Department of Health
