Public school districts administering benchmark assessments to students in grades K-8 must electronically report results to the State Department of Education beginning with the 2027-2028 school year

Benchmark assessments are defined as interim assessments measuring student progress at least three times per year (beginning, middle, and end of school year)

The State Department of Education must make benchmark assessment results available to parents and legal guardians through the same system used for statewide assessment results

The State Board of Education must submit annual reports to the Legislature by December 15, beginning in 2026, on student eligibility and placement in advanced mathematics courses and intervention courses, including demographic data

The act takes effect July 1, 2026, and includes an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage
