Court of Criminal Appeals must adopt a uniform statewide bond schedule for misdemeanor offenses beginning January 1, 2027, updated annually

Local judicial districts cannot set bond amounts lower than the statewide schedule without Court of Criminal Appeals approval, but may increase bond amounts without approval

Defendants cannot be released before initial appearance if they are on probation, a registered sex offender, on bond for another offense, have prior failure to appear, were arrested 3+ times in the past 6 months, or are charged with domestic abuse or protective order violations

Any monetary bail component may be satisfied through a surety bond, and courts cannot set different amounts based on payment type (cash vs. surety)

Defendants who previously failed to comply with personal recognizance terms are ineligible for future personal recognizance release
