Class D2 felony conviction carries imprisonment up to 2 years with at least 20% of the sentence served before release

Enhanced penalties apply for repeat offenders: 1-5 years for those with 1-2 prior Class C or D convictions, and 1-10 years for those with 3+ prior felonies or higher-class offenses

Effective date is November 1, 2026
