Counties may obtain and utilize county purchase cards issued through county depositories, with county purchasing agents authorized to allow purchasing officers to use these cards for acquisitions

No transaction limits apply for purchases under county contracts, utilities, intergovernmental payments, emergency acquisitions meeting statutory requirements, or professional services

All other county purchase card transactions are capped at $5,000 or a higher limit set by the county purchasing agent, not to exceed the fair and reasonable acquisition threshold

Cardholders must sign a purchase card agreement before receiving a card, and all purchase descriptions must be publicly published as required for warrants under existing law

County commissioners may solicit sealed bids from financial institutions to establish purchase card programs, awarding contracts in public meetings to the institution providing the greatest overall benefit to the county
