Municipalities with populations under 300,000 are prohibited from approving new homeless shelters located within 3,000 feet of any school or school property

Existing homeless shelters that were properly zoned and approved before the act's effective date may continue operating without relocation or closure

Schools established within 3,000 feet of an already-approved homeless shelter cannot cause that shelter's revocation or closure

Exemptions apply to domestic violence shelters, youth shelters, and homeless shelters operated within places of worship
