Municipalities may authorize employees or public officials with valid handgun licenses to carry concealed handguns while acting in the course and scope of employment, subject to additional training requirements established by ordinance or resolution

Municipalities may authorize open carry of firearms inside public buildings subject to policies established by the municipality, municipal public trust, or municipal authority

Firearms remain prohibited in designated firearm-prohibited locations including police departments, courthouses, courtrooms, prisons, jails, detention facilities, and any buildings specifically designated as firearm-prohibited by the municipality

Governing bodies of towns, cities, or counties may authorize concealed carry of handguns in buildings or office spaces they own or lease, except courthouses and detention facilities
