Amends 19 O.S. 2021, Section 516 to expand county sheriff duties to include protecting residents from infringements of rights guaranteed by the Oklahoma and U.S. Constitutions

Adds authority for sheriffs to prohibit federal government agents, employees, and officers from violating the constitutional rights of county residents

Authorizes sheriffs and constables to organize citizens into a posse comitatus or other designated group to assist in performing these duties

Citizens called to assist receive the same privileges and immunities as the sheriff, undersheriff, and deputies during their service

Effective date: November 1, 2025
