Oregon Department of Energy must conduct a comprehensive study on nuclear energy, including feasibility of constructing nuclear power plants and small modular reactors in the state

Study must examine advantages/disadvantages, life cycle costs, health and environmental risks, safety, reliability, workforce development potential, and legal pathways for nuclear waste disposal and interim storage

Department must consult with the Public Utility Commission and Pacific Northwest Electric Power and Conservation Planning Council, and engage with federally recognized Indian tribes through direct written contact with agreed-upon response timelines

Report with findings and potential legislative recommendations due to the House interim committee on climate, energy and environment by January 31, 2027
