Appropriates General Fund money to the State Department of Agriculture for the biennium beginning July 1, 2025, to hire up to two full-time staff members for state meat inspection programs under ORS 619.042

Funds support inspection of processing and sale of meat products from nonamenable species (animals not covered by federal inspection requirements, such as bison, rabbits, and game animals)

Staff must distribute inspection activities equitably across Oregon, with priority given to slaughter-specific facilities, rural and underserved communities, and facilities receiving Oregon Meat Processing Infrastructure and Capacity Building Grant Program funding

Declares an emergency, making the act effective immediately upon passage
