Courts must order drug dependency evaluations and treatment as a condition of probation for designated drug-related misdemeanors and certain property misdemeanors linked to substance abuse disorders

Covered property offenses include theft in the second and third degree, criminal trespass, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, and attempts to commit theft in the first degree, unauthorized vehicle use, or identity theft

State funds the costs of evaluation, treatment, and compliance supervision, though courts may assess fees based on the person's ability to pay

Persons must provide written consent for evaluation and complete the full course of treatment if found to be drug-dependent and likely to benefit

Takes effect on the 91st day after the 2025 regular legislative session adjourns
