State government officials and agencies are prohibited from discriminating against or granting preferential treatment to individuals based on gender identity, race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin when appointing members to boards and commissions

Bona fide qualifications based on sex that are reasonably necessary for the normal operation of boards and commissions remain permitted

Existing court orders and consent decrees in force at the effective date are not invalidated by this act

Restrictions apply only to appointments made on or after the effective date of the 2025 Act
