Creates the crime of criminal defamation of a servicemember, prohibiting intentional harassment through false statements about a servicemember's military service made to third parties with intent to cause financial or reputational harm

Creates the crime of unlawful appropriation of the identity of a servicemember, prohibiting falsely claiming to be a servicemember or falsely claiming affiliation with veteran nonprofit/charitable organizations with intent to deceive or defraud

Both offenses are Class A misdemeanors punishable by up to 364 days imprisonment, a $6,250 fine, or both

Provides affirmative defenses to criminal defamation if the statement is true or if the servicemember received a discharge other than honorable

Defines "servicemember" as current or former members of the U.S. Armed Forces, reserve components, or National Guard
