Warrantors may not accept fees from Oregon residents for extended motor vehicle warranties unless they first verify the vehicle qualifies for coverage by requesting and obtaining sufficient information about the vehicle's age, condition, modifications, and use

If a warrantor accepts payment for an extended warranty on a vehicle that later proves ineligible, the warrantor must still provide full coverage for the duration of the agreement as if the vehicle qualified

Extended warranty provisions requiring consumers to pursue disputes or remedies in jurisdictions outside Oregon are void and unenforceable

Violations constitute unlawful trade practices under ORS 646.608, exposing warrantors to enforcement actions and penalties

Takes effect 91 days after the 2025 legislative session adjourns and applies only to warranties entered into after the effective date
