Health care facilities must establish procedures allowing staff members (employees or contracted workers) to submit good-faith complaints about medical supplies or equipment believed to be faulty or dangerous

Facilities must retain complaints and associated investigation information for 10 years from the submission date

Patients must be informed if a medical supply or equipment subject to a complaint was used in their care within the last 10 years, including notification when the facility stops using such items

Patients may request and obtain copies of complaints and associated information regarding supplies or equipment used in their care

Oregon Health Authority will adopt rules for health care facilities, while Department of Human Services will adopt rules for long term care facilities, with requirements for uniform standards and protection of health information
