Veterans must provide evidence of eligibility for veterans' preference at the time of application for civil service positions, using DD Form 214, DD Form 215, or other documentation demonstrating preference eligibility

Failure to provide eligibility evidence at the time of application disqualifies the veteran from requesting the preference for that position

Public employers must provide veterans with a written explanation within 14 days if they decide not to interview a veteran who applied for a civil service position

Removes the previous exemption that allowed public employers to skip interviewing veterans when selecting candidates from an eligibility list

Amends ORS 408.235 and 408.237 governing veterans' preferences in Oregon public employment
