DPSST may continue investigations or deny training/certification of public safety officers and instructors even if the officer or instructor changes employment status (resigns, is terminated, or otherwise leaves their position)

Removes previous requirement that DPSST must have already issued a notice of intent to deny and the officer must have requested a hearing before jurisdiction continues after employment change

Grants DPSST authority to adopt administrative rules to implement the expanded jurisdiction provisions

Amendments become operative January 1, 2026, with DPSST authorized to take preparatory actions before that date

Act takes effect on the 91st day following adjournment sine die of the 2025 regular legislative session
