Oregon Health Authority, with the Department of Education and Oregon Board of Optometry, must establish a program providing free eye examinations, prescription eyeglasses, replacements for lost/broken glasses, and follow-up vision services to low-income students at qualified schools and community organizations

Qualified students must attend schools with high poverty rates (as identified by the Department of Education) and have been identified through vision screening as needing an eye exam or vision correction

Eye Examination and Correction Fund established in the State Treasury, with $11,000,000 appropriated from the General Fund for the biennium beginning July 1, 2025

Grant decisions must be made by April 1, 2026, with funding available to approved nonprofit organizations by May 1, 2026, to begin services in the 2026-2027 school year

Declares an emergency, making the act effective immediately upon passage
