Eliminates the provision that reduced a disqualified individual's maximum unemployment benefit amount by eight times their weekly benefit amount

Maintains existing disqualification grounds including discharge for misconduct, voluntary leaving without good cause, failure to apply for or accept suitable work, and substance-related absences

Preserves protections allowing individuals to avoid disqualification if participating in a recognized drug, cannabis, or alcohol rehabilitation program within 10 days of separation

Retains exemptions from disqualification for victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, or bias crimes who leave work for safety reasons

Takes effect 91 days after the 2025 regular legislative session adjourns; passed House March 4, 2025 and Senate June 12, 2025
