Death reports must now be submitted through the state electronic reporting system directly to the Center for Health Statistics, rather than to county registrars where the death occurred

All hospitals (regardless of size) must report medical certifications through the state electronic reporting system with electronic signatures; previous law only applied to hospitals with more than 10 deaths in the previous calendar year

Medical examiners must submit death reports to the State Registrar of the Center for Health Statistics instead of county registrars

County registrars will receive death report information as authorized by the State Registrar, then must furnish decedent information to county clerks within five business days to cancel voter registrations

Electronic signatures are now required for death certifications, eliminating the previous option for physical signatures
