Department of Education must convene an advisory committee to recommend policies for improving school attendance, with particular focus on students who experience language barriers

Advisory committee membership required from: Department of Human Services, Department of Education, State Board of Education, and associations representing school boards, educators, school employees, and school district administrators

Committee will provide information to develop a memorandum of understanding, including current attendance improvement practices such as family coach programming and collaboration between school districts and Department of Human Services

Committee will also review common formal communication practices between educators, school districts, and the department

Declared an emergency, taking effect immediately upon passage
