Precinct committeepersons who appear on the ballot may now volunteer to assist county clerks with opening envelopes, handling ballots, preparing ballots for counting, and counting ballots

Incumbent county clerk candidates who appear on the ballot may continue to be employed for ballot counting duties

Candidates appearing on the ballot (other than the two exceptions above) remain prohibited from being employed or volunteering for ballot counting activities

Family members of candidates—including spouses, domestic partners, children, parents, siblings, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, stepparents, and stepchildren—remain prohibited from ballot counting work

Amends ORS 254.476 and maintains the existing requirement that ballot counting personnel may not all be members of the same political party
