Persons charged with a new felony sex crime while already on pretrial release for a felony sex crime become eligible for release only after a court hearing to determine whether security release may be denied

If the court allows release in such cases, the defendant must be released on security release only and must deposit the full security amount set by the court—no partial payment or bond options

Courts must revoke release status and issue an arrest warrant when a defendant on pretrial release for a felony sex crime is charged with committing a new felony sex crime

Prosecutors are prohibited from stipulating to security or release terms in these cases and must request the court proceed with the full inquiry

Declared an emergency measure, taking effect immediately upon the Governor's signature
