Oregon Geographic Names Board executive secretary must compile a list of geographic features (mountains, buttes, gulleys, gulches, rivers, creeks) bearing names that are insulting or derogatory to Oregon's nine federally recognized Indian tribes or to any race, nationality, or ethnicity

Consultation required with the Geographic Names Board, federally recognized tribes, county and municipal leaders, state government representatives, local landowners, and interested parties to determine new names

List and instructions for proposing new names must be distributed to all Legislative Assembly members, tribes, county governing bodies, and county historical societies by August 1, 2026

Proposals for non-offensive replacement names must be submitted to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names within three years of the Act's effective date

Progress report due to legislative interim committees related to history by February 1, 2026; the renaming provisions automatically repeal on January 2, 2029
