Removes the statute of limitations entirely for 27 felony sex crimes, including all degrees of rape, sodomy, unlawful sexual penetration, sexual abuse, trafficking in persons, online sexual corruption of a child, child sexual abuse material offenses, and compelling prostitution

Under current law, these crimes had a 20-year limitation or until the victim reached age 30 if they were a minor; the bill allows prosecution at any time after the offense occurs

Applies to offenses committed before, on, or after the effective date, but does not revive prosecutions that were already barred under the previous statute of limitations

Retains existing provisions allowing prosecution based on DNA identification or corroborating evidence obtained after the standard limitation period for cases where the new unlimited timeframe does not apply

Takes effect on the 91st day after the 2025 legislative session adjourns sine die
