Oregon Legislative Assembly formally recognizes and honors Dr. Brian Druker for his leadership and service to Oregon and the world

Dr. Druker developed Gleevec, a targeted cancer treatment approved by the FDA on May 10, 2001, that has saved hundreds of thousands of lives and launched the era of precision cancer medicine

Led the Knight Cancer Challenge in 2015, raising $1 billion for the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute from the Legislative Assembly, Phil and Penny Knight, and over 10,000 donors

Served as director of OHSU Knight Cancer Institute since 2007, leading it to National Cancer Institute designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2017

Received the Lasker-DeBakey Award for Clinical Medical Research in 2009 and the Sjöberg Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2019
