Memorial resolution honoring Philip David Lang, former Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives, who passed away December 29, 2024, at age 95

Lang served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 1961 to 1979 and as Speaker of the House from 1975 to 1979, with the House wing of the Oregon State Capitol named the "Phil Lang Memorial House Wing" in 1997

Prior public service included enlistment in the U.S. Army Air Corps at age 17 with 25 months in Japan, service as an Oregon State Police Trooper, and Chief of Staff to Portland Mayor Terry Schrunk

Chaired the Oregon Liquor Control Commission from 1998 to 2011 and served on the board of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association, including one term as chair

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to Lang's family, including his wife of nearly 45 years, Ginny Lang, and son Philip David
