Oregon Legislative Assembly honors Christine Chin Ryan, who passed away on March 30, 2025, recognizing her lifelong advocacy for communities of color, small businesses, women, and racial justice

Founded Synergy Consulting, Inc. in Portland in 1988 and served as president for nearly four decades; the company received the U.S. Small Business Administration's Administrator's Award for Excellence in 1996

Cofounded and served as executive director of the Asian Pacific Islander Community Coalition of Oregon (APICCO), mentoring 25 youth leaders through its internship program, some of whom later served in the Oregon Legislative Assembly

First Chinese American and second Asian Pacific Islander to serve on the National Organization for Women (NOW) National Board of Directors, and first woman of color and Asian Pacific Islander to serve as president of Oregon NOW
