Expands third-degree assault (Class C felony) to include intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly causing physical injury to a public transit vehicle operator acting in the course of official duties, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both

Expands aggravated harassment (Class C felony) to include knowingly propelling saliva, blood, urine, semen, feces, or other dangerous substances at a public transit vehicle operator performing official duties, punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both

Broadens the existing protection for transit operators from only when "in control of or operating the vehicle" to anytime they are "acting in the course of performing official duties"

Amendments apply only to conduct occurring on or after the effective date of the 2025 Act
