Amends ORS 163.160 to add a new circumstance under which fourth-degree assault can be elevated from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class C felony

Fourth-degree assault becomes a felony when committed against a victim performing official duties as part of their employment, if the perpetrator has two or more prior assault convictions and at least two of those prior assaults were also against victims performing job duties

Applies to prior convictions under ORS 163.160 (assault in the fourth degree), 163.165 (assault in the third degree), 163.175 (assault in the second degree), or 163.185 (assault in the first degree), including equivalent crimes from other jurisdictions

Passed the Senate on March 13, 2025 and the House on June 4, 2025
