Health insurers offering group or individual plans in Oregon are prohibited from imposing deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, or other out-of-pocket costs on medically necessary cervical cancer screenings

Follow-up examinations for abnormal cervical cancer screening results must also be covered without cost-sharing, including HPV examinations with typing, cytology, dual stain, or colposcopy with biopsy

Covered screenings are those recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force as Grade A or B, or by the Health Resources and Services Administration guidelines

The cost-sharing prohibition does not apply to services primarily for treatment of diagnosed cervical cancer

Applies to insurance policies issued, renewed, or extended on or after the effective date of the act
