Department of the State Fire Marshal must establish an advisory committee to advise on funding for rural fire protection districts

Advisory committee will conduct comprehensive review of services provided by rural fire protection districts, available funding mechanisms, and funding limitations

Committee must develop recommendations for funding that ensures adequate and sustainable services, but is prohibited from recommending amendments to ORS 478.010(2)(c)

Report with review results and recommendations due to Legislative Assembly public safety subcommittee by December 31, 2026

Act takes effect immediately upon passage as an emergency measure and is repealed on January 2, 2027
