Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Department of Environmental Quality must jointly study wildfire impacts on water quality in streams and tributaries, consulting with other relevant state agencies

Study must assess how first rains after wildfire affect water quality, including changes to turbidity and sediment levels

Particular focus required on potential infilling of cold, deep salmonid habitat pools and effects on spawning gravel and beds from fine sediment changes

Joint report with optional legislative recommendations due to interim water committees by September 15, 2026
