Drug manufacturers and wholesalers must label orally administered drugs that contain ingredients derived from gluten-containing grains, identifying both the specific ingredient and the type of grain source

Gluten-containing grains covered include wheat (genus Triticum), rye (genus Secale), barley (genus Hordeum), and oats (genus Avena sativa), as well as crossbred hybrids of these grains

Labeling requirements become operative on January 1, 2028

State Board of Pharmacy may take preparatory actions before the operative date to implement the new requirements

Act takes effect on the 91st day following adjournment of the 2025 regular legislative session
