Colonel (Retired) Richard G. Kidd III (1936-2024), a Forest Grove resident, served 32 years in the U.S. Army, including Vietnam War service, earning multiple Bronze Star awards

Served a combined 25 years on the Forest Grove city council and as mayor, and established the city's Public Arts Commission and Historic Landmarks Board

Volunteered 15 years with Washington County Habitat for Humanity as construction manager and board chair, contributing to 18 new homes including a project named "Kidd's Corner"

Received two-time Chamber Citizen of the Year honors and the Chamber's Lifetime Achievement Award in spring 2024

Resolution adopted by Senate March 25, 2025 and House June 10, 2025, with a copy to be presented to his surviving family
