Recognizes and honors Ruth McEwen, a disability advocate who passed away on December 25, 2024, for her outstanding service to Oregon

McEwen used her lived experience with a physical disability to advocate for older adults and people with disabilities over a four-decade career in special education, counseling, and program oversight

Instrumental in Oregon's first-in-the-nation transition from institutional care to community-based services for seniors and people with disabilities

Served on multiple state bodies including the Governors' Commission on Senior Services, Oregon Disabilities Commission, Home Care Commission, and various Department of Human Services committees

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to NorthWest Senior and Disability Services staff as an expression of sympathy and condolences
