William D. "Bill" Thorndike, Jr. (December 15, 1953 – February 14, 2025) was a third-generation Rogue Valley resident honored posthumously by the Oregon Legislative Assembly for his lifetime of service to Southern Oregon

Served as inaugural chair of the Southern Oregon University Board of Trustees for multiple terms and received the SOU President's Medal for outstanding service

Led Medford Fabrication as longtime president and chairman, earning U.S. Small Business Administration Exporter of the Year recognition in 1990

Served on nearly 60 boards and committees including the Chamber of Medford & Jackson County, Oregon Business Council, Oregon Community Foundation, Crater Lake National Park Trust, and Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Portland Branch
