Roberts served in the U.S. Marine Corps from November 1967 to November 1970 during the Vietnam era, continuing a family military tradition

Prior political career included 10 years on Enterprise City Council, 10 years as Mayor of Enterprise, and service as president of the League of Oregon Cities

As county commissioner starting in 2009, she oversaw Wallowa County Courthouse renovations including a veterans' Fountain of Honor, new roof, electrical upgrades, elevator, and third-floor office conversion

Co-chaired the Blue Mountains Intergovernmental Council for six years, working with federal agencies on the Blue Mountains Plan Revision affecting public land access and local economies
