Communications providers must respond to search warrants within 72 hours when the warrant involves investigations of domestic violence, stalking, or stalking protective order violations

"Communications provider" broadly includes internet service providers, cellular telephone providers, social media platforms, VoIP services, and any telecommunications utility operating in Oregon

Judges issuing qualifying warrants must include "Immediate Response Required" in both the title and body and indicate the warrant is subject to the 72-hour requirement

Section 2 becomes operative on May 1, 2026, with the Judicial Department and communications providers authorized to take preparatory actions before that date

Designated as "Kristil's Law" and declared an emergency measure, taking effect immediately upon passage by the Governor
