School districts must file reports with the Superintendent of Public Instruction that enable determination of whether students are "regular attenders" (absent less than 10% of enrolled days) or "chronically absent" (absent 10% or more of enrolled days)

Attendance data must be disaggregated by student group, including separate categories for students with Section 504 plans versus those with individualized education programs (IEPs)

Department of Education must calculate and publish attendance statistics four times per year, including total enrollment, number and percentage of regular attenders, and number and percentage of chronically absent students

School districts and charter schools must have the opportunity to review compiled data and request adjustments before public release

Takes effect July 1, 2026, with reporting requirements first applying to the 2026-2027 school year
