Oregon Rural Fire Protection District #1 (Parkrose) was designated on November 15, 1933, as the state's first fire district

The association operates the Ted Miller Oregon Fire Service Center in Salem, which houses multiple fire service organizations including the Oregon Fire Chiefs Association and Oregon Fire Service Museum

The 75th Fire Service Conference was held in November 2025 at Seaside, Oregon
