Establishes the Pennsylvania Poet Laureate position, appointed by the Governor for a two-year term from nominees selected by a five-member Nomination Committee

Poet laureate duties include reading poems at gubernatorial inaugurations, biannual legislative session openings (upon request), and official commemorations requested by the Governor

Creates the Pennsylvania Poet Laureate Nomination Committee composed of the Secretary of Education, chair of the PA Council on the Arts, State Librarian, a nonprofit poetry/humanities representative, and a college English department representative (or their designees)

Committee determines nominee qualifications and provides the Governor with up to three candidates to choose from

Both the poet laureate and committee members serve without compensation but receive reimbursement for travel and expenses; takes effect 60 days after enactment
